Peru’s most popular drink has managed to migrate its way onto trendy bar menus throughout the world, and why shouldn’t it have? The Pisco Sour is a local icon, and enjoying one (or more) is one of the best things to do in Lima. But you know what’s better? Mastering the art of concocting your very own Pisco Sour, that’s what!
This is a Lima tour with a twist…a sour, boozy one at that! Really, what could be better than spending an afternoon learning the ins and outs of Peru’s most famous drink?
Meet your local, English-speaking guide in the heart of Lima’s Miraflores neighbourhood, and pick up some nuggets of history and local stories before inching ever closer to that illustrious Pisco Sour.
From the meeting point, your Lima day tour heads to the iconic intersection of Óvalo de Miraflores to hop on some truly local transportation – a combi. Enjoy the ride for just a few blocks before hopping off at the Surquillo Market, our first stop on the road to Pisco making bliss.
Located in the neighbourhood of Surquillo, the market is bustling and full of local flavours just waiting to be discovered. On this Lima market tour you'll stroll the stands and drink in the experience – a market visit is just one of those classic things to do in Lima. With the help of your local guide, use your best Spanish to purchase the ingredients required to make that epic Pisco Sour you’re waiting oh-so-patiently for.
With freshly-bought produce tucked under your arm, you’ll travel back to Miraflores via combi for your Pisco Sour lesson. Here, it’s time for you to learn mixology skills that will impress your friends back home, and ensure you never suffer a Pisco Sour craving again. Throughout your pisco class in Lima, you’ll hear local anecdotes about the traditional Pisco Sour, and be able to get your instructor’s advice on the little details and artistic flourishes that make a Pisco Sour as incredible as it is. Finish making your perfect Peruvian drink and celebrate with a toast – here’s to Lima! Here’s to Peru!
Long live the Pisco Sour!
